Sue Kehl, PhD, D(ABMM)

Dr. Kehl is responsible for the technical direction of the microbiology, virology, immunology, and molecular infection disease departments of the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin laboratory. She also teaches clinical microbiology to the pathology residents and participates in other patient care and educational efforts at CHW. She is a member of the CHW Human Research Review Board and a member of the MCW Institutional Biosafety Committee.

  • Development of rapid tests for detection of infectious disease, including molecular methods
  • Epidemiology of S. pneumoniae and the impact of widespread vaccine use
