Oleksandr Kravtsov, MD
Year of Graduation: 2012
I was born in the Ukraine and attended medical school there. Then I did my Anatomic Pathology residency and practiced for 2 years before coming to Milwaukee and I have had only positive experiences so far. People here are very friendly and helpful, cost of living is very decent, and the program is amazing! AP side of the program is very strong. Sign-outs are subspecialized. There is a very wide variety of cases. Specimen continuity is very well maintained and there is enough PA staff, which is very helpful. The program pays a lot of attention to the CP side. During our first weeks we received a series of introductory lectures and rotations in CP, so now we can easily understand and immerse into the ecosystem of pathology laboratories. Faculty puts a lot of time and effort into resident education. Daily peer-review sessions with Dr. Saul Suster, the Chairman of Pathology, are very educational and interesting. The program also values research opportunities and gives plenty of time to pursue projects and it is also very flexible with the needs of residents. Overall it is a very strong academic environment in which to become an excellent pathologist and to meet a lot of good people. I am very happy to be here.
