We would like to announce that Mike Lawlor, MD, PhD is the new Associate Director of the Neuroscience Research Center!
Dr. Lawlor joined the Division of Pediatric Pathology and the Neuroscience Research Center at MCW in September of 2011, establishing clinical and research laboratories focused on skeletal muscle disease. Since that time, his clinical laboratories have expanded to include both the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Health System, and he performs diagnostic services associated with neuromuscular and central nervous system diseases for these hospitals. His research remains focused on modeling and treatment development of genetic muscle diseases, particularly with respect to gene therapy in congenital myopathy and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Prior to working at MCW, Dr. Lawlor trained at Marquette University (undergraduate), Loyola University Chicago (M.D., Ph.D. in neuroscience) and Harvard Medical School (residency, fellowship, and post-doc).
